March
21

When was the last time you treated yourself to a sweet breakfast? Waffle Day is here, and we have the best places to celebrate this fun holiday.

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and topped with sugar, syrup, butter, or chocolate — waffles are the quintessential brunch menu item. If it's been a while since you've had one of these sweet and savory treats, you may want to start making plans for Waffle Day on March 25.

Our real estate agents are always talking about new breakfast spots in our area, so they were able to quickly come up with several recommendations for amazing waffles around Long Island. Here are six of our top options:

  • Sweet Chick - Queens County, 46-42 Vernon Blvd, Queens, NY 11101
You'll enjoy some of the best Belgian waffles in Long Island at Sweet Chick. This classic New York eatery serves a traditional chicken & waffles breakfast, or you can customize your own waffles with apple cinnamon, bacon cheddar, chocolate chip, or vanilla glaze toppings. Breakfast is served daily from 9 am to 12 pm. Stop by or order takeout online. Afterward, you'll want to be sure to visit one of these beautiful Brooklyn homes for sale.

  • 5 Brothers Fried Chicken & Waffles - 530 Medford Ave, Patchogue, NY 11772
You would be hard pressed to find better waffles than the ones served at 5 Brothers. Huge, delicious Belgian waffles topped with chicken is the specialty at this well-known Long Island restaurant. In the mood for something else? They also serve wings, chicken nuggets, fries, and much, much more. It's a great place to stop for a meal or even just a quick snack.

  • Rise & Grind - 240 E Main St, Patchogue, NY 11772
This classic diner has been serving Long Island for more than 80 years and claims to have the best breakfast in Patchogue. Try a traditional Belgian waffle with your choice of meat, or try the Southdown Waffle, which is topped with maple lemon honey tossed fried chicken and toasted pecan and maple bacon. Rise & Grind also has an in-house coffee bar where you can order your favorite morning beverage. The restaurant opens daily at 8 am

  • Costa Nova Waffle - 211 2nd St, Mineola, NY 11501
This Portuguese-inspired restaurant makes some unbelievable waffles. The waffles at Costa Nova Waffle are thin, flat, and prepared either bolacha (crispy) or tripa (soft). Then, they're topped with your choice of honey, jam, candy, chocolate, cookie butter, or more. They're served with your choice of strawberries or bananas. You can even order waffles online and have them shipped directly to you.

  • Waffle Cabin - 874-B W Beech St, Long Beach, NY 11561
For some delicious liège waffles on-the-go, stop by Waffle Cabin on Long Beach. These waffles are so good they don't even need toppings. But if you do decide you'd like some, sweet dark Belgian chocolate and cinnamon sugar are popular options. These waffles are a great summertime snack.

  • Court Square Diner - 45-30 23rd St, Queens, NY 11101
Combine your waffles with a traditional American diner experience at the Court Square Diner. The menu features deluxe golden Belgian waffles with your choice ham, bacon, sausage, or eggs. There are also over a dozen toppings to choose from. The diner is open 24 hours, so stop by for breakfast or a late-night snack.
