Sip some wine and enjoy the scenery with some of Long Island's most gorgeous locations with these vineyards.

Did you know some of the country's finest wines are made right here on Long Island? Our real estate agents love the fact that Suffolk County is home to many beautiful vineyards and visiting them has become one of our favorite weekend activities.

Visiting local wineries is a great way to relax, sample something new, buy discounted wine, and make new friends. Whether you enjoy sipping on a breezy outdoor patio or a sophisticated indoor tasting room, Long Island's wineries and vineyards offer relaxing and comfortable destinations to gather with friends and family. Here are some of our favorites:

  • Macari Vineyards - 150 Bergen Ave, Mattituck, NY 11952
The tasting room at Macari Vineyards sits right on the edge of this winery's beautiful 500-acre vineyard. Book a private tasting (they accommodate both small and large groups) on the covered deck or in the barrel cellar. Cheese and cold cuts are available. There are four different packages in total, ranging from $40 per guest to $185 per guest. If you like Long Island's wine country, there are some spectacular Suffolk County homes for sale a short distance away.

  • Jason's Vineyards - 1785 Main Rd, Jamesport, NY 11947
Some of Long Island's finest wines come from this gorgeous 20-acre vineyard in Jamesport. Spending a Saturday afternoon at Jason's Vineyards is the perfect way to relax. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as well as special events and live music at this winery that serves over a dozen varieties.

  • Rose Hill Vineyards - 2000 Oregon Rd, Mattituck, NY 11952
Enjoy one of the most scenic and peaceful wine tastings on Long Island at Rose Hill Vineyards. Sip your favorite wine outdoors on the patio or indoors in the library (depending on the weather). If you want to make a weekend of it, stay the night in the Rose Hill Bed and Breakfast, which is located on 22 acres of vines. Reservations for tastings are strongly recommended on the weekends.

  • Baiting Hollow - 2114 Sound Ave, Calverton, NY 11933
A comfortable outdoor tasting area appropriately named "The Backyard" as well as a wide selection of reds, whites, rosé, and dessert wines await you at Baiting Hollow. Enjoy your wine while listening to live music out on the farm. This vineyard is a true escape! Planning an outing with a group of events? The sun-shaded table area is $250 for an all-day rental and can fit 10 to 20 people.

  • Kontokosta Winery - 825 North Rd, Greenport, NY 11944
This family-owned and operated winery appointment only and definitely worth the trip. Located on the bluffs overlooking Long Island Sound, Kontokosta Winery is known for its amazing scenery and true tranquility. . . not to mention several award-winning wines. Reservations only permit 6 people per party, and you can book them online.

  • Jamesport Vineyards - 1216 Main Rd, NY-25, Jamesport, NY 11947
Jamesport Wines are best described as the perfect balance between ripeness and restraint, softness and structure. You can enjoy them while touring this amazing Long Island vineyard. As soon as you arrive, you'll notice the beautiful New York countryside and friendly service. After taking a tour, you'll have a chance to buy your favorite wines at the local shop or enjoy a delicious meal at the Little Oak, a north fork-inspired, wood-fired oven restaurant with some fantastic pizzas! Book your reservations online.

Long Island's beautiful wineries make it easy to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Contact us today for more local recommendations.
