July
4

Long Island has plenty to do for the whole family this summer. Look forward to these July events.

Looking for some summer fun? Long Island communities host many great family-friendly events, so it's easy to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful summer weather. If you're searching for a fun place to take the kids on the weekends, there are so many wonderful options! Whether it's exploring new parks or checking out a local farm, our real estate agents have lots of recommendations for you. Here is a quick list of top Long Island events that are fun for the whole family:

  • Brooklyn Bridge Waterfront Walks - 2 Furman St, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Learn all about the Brooklyn Bridge's unique design and the history of the waterfront park by joining a Waterfront Walk. These walks are a great way to get some exercise, fresh air, and a quick history lesson. You'll also get to see some of the park's most beautiful landscapes and amazing Manhattan skyline views. The walks take place on most Sundays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. They start at Pier 1, which is just around the corner from these beautiful Brooklyn homes for sale.

  • Family Kayaking - 10 Montague St, Brooklyn, NY 11201
This kayak program for kids is an awesome family-friendly activity. Take the kids out on the water and paddle around the East River at Family Kayaking. Children 7 and older can paddle alone (as long as a guardian is present), and there are safety boaters out on the water to help provide lessons and instruction. Kayaking also lets you see New York City from a whole new perspective!

  • Sylvester Manor: Family Fun At The Farm - 80 N Ferry Rd, Shelter Island, NY 11964
Enjoy 90 minutes of family fun down on the farm at Sylvester Manor. Your family can take a scenic walk through the windmill field, make crafts, climb inside a windmill, and enjoy some fresh farm-to-table cuisine. The event takes place Thursday July 7, 2022 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

  • Kids Day At Hoyt Farm - 200 New Hwy, Commack, NY 11725
Another opportunity for a fun farm day in the sun takes place Sunday, July 17 at Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve. The program is geared towards elementary school children and features a circus performer, a ventriloquist, and a clown. Each performance is 45 minutes and the whole event takes place from 3 to 7 pm.

  • Riverhead Raceway - July Events - 1797 Old Country Rd, Riverhead, NY 11901
You won't want to miss the fun Saturday events planned at Riverhead Raceway throughout July. You'll see an abundance of loud and exciting races, demolitions, and derbies. The grandstands open at 4 pm, and admission is $30 for adults, $10 for ages 6 to 12, and free for kids under 5.

  • Family Fun Day - Penataquit Dr, Bay Shore, NY 11706
Head on over to Bay Shore Brightwaters Little League Field for Family Fun Day on July 30. This popular summer community event has a ton of activities for everyone. Enjoy raffles, a 50/50 auction, tons of games, a bounce house for the kids, and water activities.
