Local events are great because you can try new food, browse art, shop, and socialize with like-minded people. Our real estate agents are always on the lookout for unique events across Long Island, and there are several coming up in August. Here are five events that are sure to be a lot of fun:
- SUMAQ 2022
Experience all of the great flavors of Peruvian cuisine at SUMAQ 2022. Enjoy dozens of vendors serving-up authentic Peruvian dishes at this outdoor festival which helps to promote some of New York's best Peruvian restaurants and chefs. Crafts, games, and kid's activities are also available. After a two-year hiatus, this amazing festival is back and takes place at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. This two-day festival takes place on August 27th and 28th.
- Long Island Woodworkers Annual Show
Browse handcrafted furniture, wood turnings, carvings, tools, and more at the 24th annual Long Island Woodworkers Annual Show, which also takes place at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. There is also a live woodworking demonstration, several seminars on woodcarving techniques, as well as handmade toys for kids. The event takes place September 17 and 18 and is free with museum admission.
- Arts In The Plaza
Come out and enjoy some of the best handcrafted art on Long Island while listening to live music outdoors. Arts In The Plaza is one of the summer's best art events — you never know what you're going to find. It's a great opportunity to meet some great local artists and shop for some unique gifts. This event takes place in Kennedy Plaza on September 23, and it's just around the corner from these Long Beach homes for sale.
- Pinstripes And Tales: Extra Innings
This is your opportunity to hear some unique stories about your favorite Yankees players from the 50's through the 80's. Pinstripes And Tales: Extra Innings is an event hosted by former Yankees Magazine columnist Bill Schulman. The event takes place Wednesday August 31st from 11 am to 12:30 pm at the Connetquot Public Library. It's free, and no registration is required.
