Warm weather and longer days are finally here, and our real estate agents are eager to get out of the house and enjoy fun activities with friends and family this spring. There are so many things to do around Long Island, and it seems like there is never enough time to enjoy all of the wonderful parks and museums around our communities. If you're looking for help prioritizing your springtime activities, we pulled together a list of our top recommendations:

  • Fire Island Lighthouse - Field 5, Robert Moses State Park
What was once an important landmark for ships coming into New York Harbor, Fire Island Lighthouse sits on a barrier island that is now a park and museum with trails, oceanfront views, and plenty of history. The museum is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, and the tower is also available for tours throughout the week. The gorgeous scenery provides many photo opportunities. The lighthouse is just a short walk from Robert Moses State Park Field 5.

  • Jones Beach - 1 Ocean Pkwy, Wantagh, NY 11793
Widely considered one of Long Island's best seashores, Jones Beach hosts concerts, boardwalk activities, and tons of fun in the sun all spring and summer. The park has over 7 miles of ocean-front beach, two pools, and an abundance of free activities, so it's one of the best places to take the kids. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. Just don't forget to take a look at these gorgeous Wantagh homes for sale while you're in the area.

  • Adventureland -2245 Broadhollow Rd, Farmingdale, NY 11735
A classic Long Island amusement park, Adventureland has thrill rides, haunted mansions, bumper cars, water rides, kid-friendly rides, and plenty of snacks and games. General Admission is $49.50 for ages 2-24 and $39.50 for adults 25 and up. Season passes and birthday party rentals are also available. While you're in the area, don't forget to check out some of our favorite Nassau County homes for sale.

  • Long Island Children's Museum - 11 Davis Ave, Garden City, NY 11530
With 14 interactive exhibits for all ages, live theater, creative areas, and daily activities, the Long Island Children's Museum is an excellent way for families to spend a weekend afternoon. From a bubble room to climbing structures, all of the exhibits are meant to inspire creativity, uncover passions, and master skills. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.

  • Long Island Game Farm - 489 Chapman Blvd, Manorville, NY 11949
Head to the Long Island Game Farm for some sunshine and an up-close look at some of your favorite animals. This children's zoo has dozens of exotic and local species of mammals, birds, and reptiles. Buffalo, camels, chimpanzees, and alpacas are some of the most popular exhibits. Kids will have the opportunity to feed the animals, and the farm hosts tons of programs and activities throughout the spring and summer.

There are more than enough family-friendly activities on Long Island to keep you busy this spring. If you're ready to start searching for your dream home, contact us today.
