 Long Island Splash Pad

Summer weather is here! When our real estate agents want to unwind, they look forward to leisurely days spent at these wonderful swimming spots around Nassau County homes for sale and Suffolk County homes for sale

  • Cantiague Park - 480 W. John St., Hicksville, NY 11801
When Cantigue Park opened in 1961, it was the first park in the area to offer a swimming pool. Flash-forward to today, when Cantigue Park features an entire complex devoted to family fun in the water. Facilities include Olympic-sized, kiddie, diving, and training pools, along with two water slides. Kids have a blast splashing around in the interactive water-play area, with a jungle gym that has sprinklers shooting streams of water from ground level. Pool complex is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily through Labor Day. Fees with a $36 resident Leisure Pass are $6-$10. Non-resident fees are $20-$25.

  • Jones Beach State Park - 2400 Ocean Pkwy., Wantagh, NY 11793
Jones Beach State Park may be in Nassau County, but its fame as a popular summer destination reaches across the nation. In 2005, the combined Jones Beach State Park historic district was named to the National Register of Historic Places. The highlight of the park, which was designed in an ocean liner theme, is a scenic 6.5-mile white-sand beach. Zach's Bay is a site of calmer waters that's good for smaller children and anyone with limited mobility. All public beach areas are patrolled by qualified lifeguards. When the beach is closed, take a dip in the West Bathhouse indoor pool. Visit the website for the seasonal schedule. Entrance fee is $10 per vehicle through Labor Day. Empire Passes provides unlimited entry per season, multi-season, or lifetime.

  • Cedar Point County Park - 5 Cedar Point Rd., East Hampton, NY 11937
Looking for an alternative to crowded ocean beaches? Cedar Point County Park has a beautiful setting alongside Gardiners Bay, where visitors can swim, scuba dive, and fish. The park's impressive centerpiece is Cedar Point Lighthouse, a stately beacon that guided whaling ships in and out of Sag Harbor during the late 19th century. If you're planning a staycation, enjoy nature in style at one of the park's safari-style glamping platform tents. Visit the website for hours and fees, which are discounted for residents.

  • Eisenhower Park - 1899 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, NY 11554
At 930 acres, Eisenhower Park is even larger than Central Park, easily accommodating a wide range of activities. Little ones love the splash pool, with a large sprinkler ring holding several spray heads. Older kids and adults can cool off at the world-class Nassau County Aquatic Center. Splash pad hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily through Labor Day, and admission is free. Visit the website for the Aquatic Center schedule and fees.

  • Hidden Pond Park Pool at the Rinx - 660 Terry Rd., Hauppage, NY 11788
Good things come in threes at Hidden Pond Park Pool at the Rinx. First is the main pool, measuring a spacious 50 meters long, followed by the diving pool with two one-meter diving boards. Last but not least is the kiddie pool, with a depth ranging from six inches to 1.5 feet. Visit the website for seasonal hours. Fees are $2-$15 for residents and $30 for all non-residents.
