Organizers encourage participants to bring along food donations, either to the race site or pre-race check-ins. There are two races to choose from: the regular 5K and the Chase the Gobbler 1K. The Leftover Turkey Trot 5K has you covered with a Thanksgiving Weekend run that you can look forward to on November 30, 2024, starting at 9:30 AM. After the two-day combo of Thanksgiving and Black Friday, this run is the perfect opportunity to get out, enjoy some fresh air, and get the blood pumping. In addition to the 5K run/walk, there will be a special, free Kiddie Dash 30 minutes before the main race starts. -
CP Nassau 5K – 1899 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, NY 11554
The CP Nassau 5K is a great race that you can enjoy before Thanksgiving arrives, and it's also an important fundraiser for the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County. While registration is open to all, there is a fundraising goal of $200 for all participants, which goes toward programs for children and adults at CP Nassau. The run takes place on November 17, 2024, at Eisenhower Park. -
Smithtown Kickers Annual Turkey Trot – 51 Lawrence Ave., Smithtown, NY 11787
The Smithtown Kickers Annual Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day race on a classic course that raises money for Angela's House and the Smithtown Children's Foundation. Bring the kids along for the 1-mile Family Fun Run, or sign up for the full 5K. There will be awards for the top finishers in each group for the 5K, along with pre-race snacks, post-race snacks, and a commemorative t-shirt for all participants. Both races take place on November 28, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM.
